Left 4 Dead Survivors to Fans: “Did you miss us?”

December 14, 2009

One of the biggest questions when Left 4 Dead 2 came out was, “Where are the other survivors?” Alright, maybe it wasn’t the biggest question, but it was asked…a lot! Well Valve plans to answer that question this Spring.

Borderlands DLC rising from the dead November 24th

November 10, 2009

The epic loot ‘n shoot game Borderlands is getting it’s first DLC pack late in November. The pack features a new island for vault hunters to explore. The only catch is, it’s crawling with the undead! Dr. Ned has taken up residence there and his evil experiments has created a way to bring the dead to life. Unfortunately their hunger for flesh was a little more than hoped for.

The DLC pack drops on Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network on November 24th. It will cost 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99 USD. No word yet on if the PC version will also be getting the pack or not.

Left 4 Dead 2 Demo Haxor’d

November 5, 2009

So the Left 4 Dead 2 demo has been out for a little while now. The demo includes single player and co-op campaign modes. That’s it! A crafty modder has broken the game open and managed to work out how to get versus mode to work, and all you need is a plug-in.

Mind you, this is for the PC version only. Sorry Xbox gamers, we don’t get any sweet mods.

Jump over to L4Dmods to find out how you can get in on the action.

Zombie punched in Iowa while ordering food?

October 28, 2009

Some more zombie news for you all. A man in Iowa was punched in the face while ordering food. Why does this involve zombies?

The man that was punched was called a zombie by another man, then hit in the face. The Zombie-ish victim tried to call the police on his cell phone, but was hit again resulting in a broken nose.

The man then ran out the back door of the restaurant, and the victim was taken to the hospital.

While I want to award the puncher for his quick action in taking down a zombie, he also gets a demerit cause the “zombie” spoke to him. Zombie’s can’t talk, nor do they order food. Unless the moans for flesh and brains is them placing an order…

Zombies invade Monroeville Mall

October 25, 2009

Whoa whoa whoa..Calm down, put the shotgun away. Zombies didn’t really invade a mall, at least not real zombies. On October 11th a group of 2,000 people dressed as zombies and “invaded” Monroeville Mall.

This hoard of the undead shambled through the mall George A. Romero used for his zombie tale Dawn of the Dead. For other zombie fans, that mall is not just a shopping center, but a cultural icon.

The Wall Street Journal has a write up of the event along with a great gallery of images from the invasion.

Zombieland: The gory feel good comedy of the year

October 3, 2009

Anyone that knows me, knows I’m a zombie freak. Any form of zombie media and I’m all over it. When I first heard about Zombieland I had mixed emotions about it. I’m more for the traditional slow moving zombie than the newer sprinters. As the release date for Zombieland got closer I was more and more excited to see it. Does this movie hold up as a zombie film? Or is it buried in a shallow grave of regret and mistakes?

Crash Course Crash and Burn? [UPDATE of an UPDATE]

September 29, 2009

New DLC for Left 4 Dead just released, but there is a slight snag…In August I reported that Crash Course would be 560 microsoft points for the Xbox 360 version.

In the 40 minutes that the content has been released, the internet has nerd raged (myself included) cause the game is 800 MSP. 560 was a number we could all agree on, it was half the content of a normal campaign, so it’s half the price of normal DLC.

Is this just a glitch in the system? Is 800 points a place holder they forgot to take off? Will people that bought it anyway get a refund, or are we destined to spend the 800 to get the new content. I know a lot of people are unhappy, we will just have to wait until daylight if there are any updates.

While us Xbox gamers complain about not getting cheap content, PS3 owners complain about not getting the game. We really need to pick our battles better…

Crash Course on the Xbox Live Marketplace

UPDATE: Major Nelson’s twitter feed says that the 800 point price is wrong and is being looked into. He also says it may take a few hours or more to fix the problem all over the globe. Crash Course WILL be 560, just wait until it’s updated.

UPDATE 2: Yo dawg, we heard you like updates, so we put an update in your update so you can update people about Crash Course while you update people about Crash Course being 560 on the market place now. Enjoy!
