Mischief. Mayhem. Soap

November 22, 2009 by

A Peruvian gang has been capturing local farmers, killing them and using their fat to produce soap to sell in the European cosmetics market.

Three members of the gang have arrested and confessed to at least five of the murders, and even detail how they went about rendering the fat.

I will put the rest of the story after the jump. Here is your first warning. The details are graphic, they are not for those with a weak stomach. They may make you question using soap.

Get ready for Black Friday

November 15, 2009 by

Here in the states we have our Christmas decorations up in July. No one cares about anything but Christmas from October until probably January. It’s a sad disturbing fact.

In these crappy economic times, money is tight. We are looking for anyway to save a couple bucks when we shop. Tis’ the season to be spending it seems. Don’t fret, the fake holiday Black Friday is just around the corner! Screw Thanksgiving, it’s Christmas shopping time!

I found a decent site that has a collection of this year’s Black Friday ads. That way you can save the change you would spend on a news paper, and use it to buy an HDTV or something!

Spider-Man filming might be a little delayed…

November 15, 2009 by

Spider-Man was recently arrested for punching a tourist while in costume. I’m sure it was an accident, his spider sense probably went off and he swung at the first target. Jameson is probably having the best day of his life right now.

In serious news, the guys that dresses up as Spidey and entertains tourists on Hollywood Boulevard was arrested. There was a call to police about a man dressed as the web slinger had hit a tourists in the face and arm. The police showed up and found 4 people dressed as web head. They found the assailant, but the tourist didn’t want to press charges, instead the man had outstanding warrants and was taken into custody.

The Spider-Man movies are in no way related or effected by this.

Black Cat’s story in Spider-Man 4

November 15, 2009 by

Black Cat is straying from her comic book story for the upcoming Spider-Man 4.

Reports from Hey You Guys is saying that instead of trying to get her father out of prison, she is the daughter of the new editor at The Daily Bugle. She falls in love with Peter Parker, and discovers his super hero identity. Her father then dies, and she becomes a threat to Parker.

Doesn’t seem to be sticking true to her thief story roots. But when has a super hero movie stayed to the original story exactly?

Cort and Fatboy: Mediocrity at its finest

November 10, 2009 by

I doubt many of you have heard of these guys. Cort and Fatboy once hosted “The Cort and Fatboy” show on KUFO out of Portland, Oregon. You might be saying to yourself, “Wait, Nick is from Roanoke, VA. How does he know about this?!” A friend of mine on Xbox Live told me about them and I’ve been listening to them for a while.

Recently Cort and Fats had been fired from their spot on KUFO due to new owners and the owners screwing everything up. The community freaked out, without their afternoon radio hosts, daytime entertainment would suck!

Well the guys are back, and they have their own show on their website. They provide a daily podcast for your listening pleasure. They focus mainly on pop culture and current events. So if you need a good laugh, or just want to hear some smart mouthed snark, check them out.

Alan Moore writing Gorillaz next opera?

November 10, 2009 by

Alan Moore is set to write the lyrics for Gorillaz next major project. This project is a follow up to 2007’s Monkey: Journey to the West. As for content, nothing is said yet. Fans of Gorillaz, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett work should be excited for the project.

If Gorillaz make a movie out of this, expect Moore to get pissed and immediately hate it.

Rachel McAdams as Black Cat?

November 10, 2009 by

Mania is reporting that Rachel McAdams has auditioned for Felicia Hardy in Spider-Man 4. Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat, meets Spidey while being a cat burglar ( silly name, cause you don’t steal cats) to get her father out of prison.

Later on in their story, Black Cat becomes Spidey’s stalker, and they form a relationship. The story in the movie could work the same way, and give Sony another character to do a spin-off with.

No word on if she is confirmed for the role, or if anyone else has beat her to it.

Mania is also reporting that casting for a male villain for the movie is happening as well. No one knows who this will be yet, considering Spider-Man punches lots of bad dudes in the face.

Any Hipsters out there with $300 Million?

November 10, 2009 by

I can hear Dennis Hopper screaming at us already… Turns out the brewery that makes Pabst and other cheap beer is being sold. Bank of America Merril Lynch is in charge of finding a buyer for the sale, which could cost the new owner $300 Million USD to purchase.

With the sudden increase in profits over the last couple years, selling the brand is a wise decision. That is if you’re into making money, but really, who isn’t?

Another Pabst Blue Ribbon post gives me an excuse to post this video too!
