Font Capture: Make your own font

by

Ever wanted to make your own type face? I’ve played around and drew up some of my own, but I’ve never been able to use them on the computer. Well now we can! The image above is a sample of what was made with the program.

Font Capture takes the hard part out of font creation and makes it simple. All you have to do is go to the site, print the template, and draw up your font. Once you’ve done the work of drawing out your font, you scan the page back to your computer, then upload it to the Font Capture site, and it magically spits out a font file for you to use.

The only thing you need to worry with is if your characters fit in the boxes. There are ascender and descender lines. If you go too far out of these it might cut your characters heads or bottoms off.

Get to work on your own fonts, I’ll have some made soon. I might use them in some posts if I can.
