Bioshock gets new Director

by

logoTalk about Bioshock being turned into a movie has been going on for a while now. The game turned movie has picked up a new director.

Originally Gore Verbinski was going to direct the underwater Utopian movie. You may remember him from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. He has since stepped down due to scheduling. The movie was shut down by Universal for a while cause the budget was growing too large. They needed to find a place outside of the U.S. that would offer them tax incentives to shoot there. Verbinski says that he is unsure if he would be able to commit to leaving the country to work for a year due to other projects.

Who will be taking his place? Juan Carlos Fresnadillo…who is that? He recently directed 28 Weeks Later. I know most of you will say, “But that movie wasn’t all that bad, the opening was awesome!” That’s cause Danny Boyle directed the opening…everything else was Fresnadillo’s doing.

Now we can’t judge the guy on one movie alone, unless it’s Uwe Boll. Hopefully he will do a good job on this movie. We will have to see when Bioshock actually gets into production
