Save the Arcades!

August 30, 2009

Stride has set up a little thing to help out the (4) surviving arcades around America. Stride will donate 25,000 dollars to the lucky arcade only if YOU, the people, will play their online game Zapataur and donate your accumulated points to the arcade of your choice. When the contest is over, whoever is left with the most points gets the 25k. Pretty sweet contest in my opinion, just wish there was a way to give all the arcades money. Head over to Save the Arcades and save some arcades! My vote is for Arcade UFO, they have so many sweet games!

Hey SNK! It’s almost the end of August; where’s our patch?!

August 28, 2009

kof12_release copy

As reported earlier, we were told that the KOF12 patch would come out by the end of August. With only three more days till the end of August, there is some heated discussion on the internet with what exactly the deal is on the release. Over at the Neo Gaf forums Liquid Swords recently posted this:

The PS3 patch was submitted on last Friday, we’ll announce its release as soon as it receives approval from SCEA.

360 patch is being tested now, hopefully will be submitted very soon

SNK P and Ignition thank everyone for being so patient; we know that this fix is greatly needed.

We should assume that the already submitted PS3 patch will very likely be available by the 31st. While the 360 audience, me included, can only wait to the 31st with bitter tears. Well I won’t be crying, I’m a man you wusses.

New Demon Souls, wait what’s Demon Souls?

August 28, 2009

Kotaku just posted up new screens and a small impression on the upcoming Atlas action RPG. Here is a quote on some of its features:

The coolest feature of Demon Souls that I didn’t sleep through was the fact that once you die, someone else playing the game online can resurrect you to fight by their side as their own personal minion. As I watched Aram play, half-dozing (so sorry!), a player came up and summoned him back to life in order to face a particularly difficult boss. Players can also leave little messages for other players, such as “This boss is a real jerk”. Players reading the message can then vote for it, with votes conferring certain benefits to the player who originally wrote the message. You can still play the game offline, but why would you want to?

Sounds super cool. Click the link to head over to Kotaku.com and get the full article and more screen shots.

Oh yeah, the beer that’s hard to find in the woods.

August 28, 2009

MILLERCOORS CAMO CAN For the savvy hunter on the… hunt. The Champagne of Beers is celebrating this fall (and hunting season, but I’ll ignore that) with nothing better than a camouflage can. This Limited Edition Fall Series is set to be in circulation till the end of the year, and is as crisp and smooth as original High Life. But come on, it’s camo colored. You have to drink at least one. Go get your swerve on!

Do Scientists Not Watch Movies?

August 26, 2009

Chicken_TRexSeriously, do they not like movies? Maybe if they watched more they would learn something from them. Like how in Jurassic Park everything ended in disaster! But these things won’t stop them, first it’s robot suits from Cyberdyne, now they’re reviving Dinosaurs.

Have a terrible Internet connection? Move to Japan

August 26, 2009

AB2NJSXLJIUY2PSOUOZQANCNMIL74TXHThat’s right. The Japanese have better internet speeds that we do. South Korea has an even better connection than them… No wonder they can zerg rush like champs.

In a recent report America clocked in at 28th on the list of Broadband connection speed. Claiming that uploading a high definition video would take us 2.5 hours, while in Japan it takes 12 minutes! It’s mostly to blame on our crappy network. America’s high speed internet network is crap compared to some, with 18% of users reporting in a 768 kilobits a second while 64% getting 10 megabits a second.

President Obama has put forth a plan to get high speed internet in every home in America with the FCC trying to help. Some of the best internet speeds come from the Northeastern part of the country while the worst comes from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and surrounding areas.
